Hi my name is Jodee Shead. I have been a massage therapist since 1992. I have continued my learning in this field as I find it fascinating. Being a massage therapist is very rewarding and I love my work.
There is nothing better than a client coming in with pain, discomfort and limited movement and walking out of my clinic feeling much better and having a much better range of movement.
Before I became a massage therapist I nursed for 10 years. But found it didn't make me feel fulfilled in my working life. I knew I needed to find something that I would enjoy. During maternity leave for my 2nd child, I began looking around for what interested me. This lead me to Massage Therapy and I haven't looked back since.
Specialising in sporting injuries due to working alongside a man who has been in the business for 30 years. His experience and knowledge is not taught at any College. I spent the first 7 ½ years working with him learning as much of his skills as I possibly could. 7 ½ years definitely well spent.
I have now earnt my own reputation as a sports and remedial massage therapist and have people travel from all over Victoria and New South Wales to see me regularly.
I graduated from the Murray College of Health Education with a Certificate IV in Massage in 1992 and then went on to achieve my Diploma in Massage 1993.
I have been active in the Regional area for the AMT (Association of Massage Therapist) being the Treasurer, then the secretary of the Riverina Branch. Traveling to Sydney, Melbourne and country Victoria for courses to increase my knowledge.
As a senior level 2 in massage therapy I am covered with most Health insurances.
Late in 2009 I decided to venture out on my own and work close to home.
I never wanted to work from inside my home as my family need space of their own and a lot of people find it uncomfortable coming into the therapist living quarters. My husband and I set up a portable office that was not attached to the house at all.
The comments from clients have been very pleasing with the surroundings and how professional my room is.
Come and see me and judge for yourself on how you think my clinic is and how you find my professionalism in Massage Therapy.
See you soon
